We'd buy each one as it came out and trade them with each other. James Bondian character with lots of gore, and of course copious masturbation fuel for us at that age. These books were like a window to the world of adulthood for us. Hard to say how much they influenced my own writing, Shaun Masonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15236361569959158179noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3701602284718920546.post-61171016736349505442016-06-10T11:21:32.593-05:002016-06-10T11:21:32.593-05:00I'm 2/3 of the way through this one, the secon...I'm 2/3 of the way through this one, the second Blade novel I've read. Yeah, that was hilarious when Blade thinks, "Good thing I spent all those hours twirling broadswords and maces, just to stay in shape, back in England." I am not generally a fan of this type of fantasy novel (should I read the one Gor novel I own?), but I find the Blades to be amusing. I can't remember half the books I read for college lit but I'll never forget Blade's adventure in the land of the reverse-gangbang amazons.https://www.blogger.com/profile/09492062472206579391noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3701602284718920546.post-28991020974805266212012-07-23T11:55:21.905-05:002012-07-23T11:55:21.905-05:00I've got a small pile of these. Lots of violence, lots of sex, pure wish fulfillment as you state. It's like you've taken a 16 year old boy's nightly dreams of heavy-metal and D&D-fueled fantasy awesomeness and turned each into a Men's Adventure novel.Jack Badelairehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10932441028544500024noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3701602284718920546.post-15840511241899537172012-07-19T09:21:52.127-05:002012-07-19T09:21:52.127-05:00I remember seeing these in used stores in the late...I remember seeing these in used stores in the late 70s and early 80s. I didn't bother with them because I couldn't find the first one. By the time I did I was in college and working in the store and wasn't reading any fantasy at that time. I remember they were usually bought and sold by people who also had the Barry Sadler Casca series.Dan_Lufthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05096055160420981482noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3701602284718920546.post-48071680792361075032012-07-19T04:35:25.827-05:002012-07-19T04:35:25.827-05:00Hard to believe that this series is still produced...Hard to believe that this series is still produced in France. It has reached no. 205 this year.
