They set you up with all this stuff about how Hawks is a badass half-Indian "who knows how to love a woman and kill a man," but once he takes the job, he just wanders around for 100 pages until finally reaching the villain's lair, where he snoops around a little, leaves, gets captured, escapes, and that's it. It's like a version of Dr. No Jack Nevadahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12324184017110542447noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3701602284718920546.post-57515220892417670182016-04-23T00:07:52.086-05:002016-04-23T00:07:52.086-05:00Thanks for the comment, Tom! I consider myself lucky to have recently come across a handful of the '60s Signet editions of various James Bond novels...at half off the cover price of 50 cents each!! Unfortunately none of them were "Doctor No," which was always my favorite Bond novel. An encounter with kung fu before Bruce Lee brought it to light, though in this case it's a more Suma wrestling and less on boxing. He always has a chance to kill the bad guy, but doesn't, and this ends up causing him more trouble before the tale ends. But I loved the series.Tom Johnsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05594257113339405939noreply@blogger.com
