It even became a pre-occupation with TV shows, because by then any given TV detective was also a Vietnam vet, so the Magnums and others ended up with an episode about returning to Vietnam to rescue someone! Mark Stone, as shown in the cover paintings, is a dead ringer for James Franco, or whatever his name is -- the dude from the Spider-Man films and etc. Especially as the volumes pogress. When I was reading this stuff in the '80s I'd always find tons of '70s men's adventure novels at the local used bookstore...I guess at the time they were considered junk and so people just got rid of them. Today of course many of them go for inflated prices.Joe Kenneyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03285576322579808153noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3701602284718920546.post-56797560957738431282011-06-07T17:01:36.561-05:002011-06-07T17:01:36.561-05:00I re-read this one about a year ago, because I rem...I re-read this one about a year ago, because I remember not liking it when I first read it in high school. It was better than I remembered, but did fall victim to the things you mentioned. There was a lot of shoot-this-guy, run-a-few-yards, shoot-another-guy simplicity to the combat, but at least there was plenty of it. :) Luckily, a used bookstore nearby had almost all of 'em ('cept Zwolfhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02364540771153476179noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3701602284718920546.post-86493536904383393542011-06-06T10:07:33.816-05:002011-06-06T10:07:33.816-05:00Ah, those were the days!Ah, those were the days!mybillcriderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02350478005243505108noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3701602284718920546.post-85679415508349751632011-06-06T07:07:55.136-05:002011-06-06T07:07:55.136-05:00A book I've actually read!
