I had grown up a huge Tarzan fan and when I saw those (primarily) Frazetta covers I was hooked. Here was a character that looked even more badass than Tarzan fighting all kinds of bizarre creatures with weapons far more impressive than a knife. Have any of the stories that started out in the comics been turned into prose stories (as opposed to turning the prose stories into comics)? This was during the horror, fantasy, pulp fiction revival in the 1960s. Weaned on Doc Savage, this Conan stuff was far superior.
